The Finger Lakes region is home to many wineries specializing in white
wines (such as Riesling) and ice or late harvest wines. Many wineries
are associated with wine trails that circle one of the finger lakes.
However, many other local wineries are not listed on the wine
trails. The region is also home to local cideries and breweries.
Explore the variety for yourself! (Remember to have a designated
driver!)
Ithaca is also home to many local merchants, farmers, and
craftspeople. Get out and enjoy the lack of chain stores!
- The Ithaca Commons is
a pedestrian mall int he heart of downtown Ithaca with specialty
stores, restaurants, and bookstores
- The Ithaca Farmer's
Market takes place on weekend mornings in a covered pavillion by
the lakeshore and on Tuesdays near downtown and features prepared
foods and crafts in addition to wonderful local produce
